Mother’s Day
In lieu of Mother’s Day, my family of 10 finally resumed our Sunday lunch ritual, despite needing to separate into 2 tables due to recently enforced social distancing laws. The restaurant was packed as expected, it’s good to see businesses flourishing once again. After lunch, I went to my new place with my parents and […]
Weekly Update…
Skipped a week of updates because I was too tired last Sunday after joining the city’s rally against the extradition to mainland rule. The rally had the largest number of protesters since the Umbrella Movement, there was a sense of hope I felt afterwards. But will our stubborn Government listen to their people? There are […]
Cafe Start-up Course
Finally started the 8-session (16 hour) cafe start-up course I registered back in Feb. last night. The idea of opening a coffee shop took shape after my uncle passed away last year. After my uncle’s death, I came to realize how meaningless my previous work was and began on a journey to heal myself via […]
Art for Food?
Valentine’s Day. Was thinking about asking the girl I like out, but she said early this week she didn’t have the luxury to go to the annual CNY market this year, I’m just assuming she’s busy today as well? Or is she dating someone else? Actually, does she have a bf? How can I be […]
Coffee Workshop
Before going to buy some red fai chun paper in preparation for the upcoming volunteering work on Monday, I decided to go pick up my long due (beginner) barista certificate nearby. It just happened that there was a coffee workshop going on, I aimlessly went in the seminar room while the speaker was wrapping up […]
Baking Class
Got my friend to take me to a trial baking class last night. It was my first ever cooking class, a very enjoyable experience. There’s something magical about the process of making bread – mixing the raw ingredients, kneading the dough with your hands, patiently waiting for the yeast to ferment, then anxiously waiting more […]
Monday Artist
It was a day of fully-packed artistic events. I first went to a chinese painting exhibition by artist 林勇遜 in the early afternoon, then quickly saw the MUJI compact life exhibition @PMQ while I was in the Central area. Ended the day with my weekly evening watercolor and oil painting classes, completed 2 pieces of […]
Monday Artist
Continuing my Monday Artist saga, I did some cartooning character design in the afternoon, then rapped up the day with the weekly watercolor and oil painting classes in the evening. I still find watercolor very challenging. Oil painting was comparatively easier to master, and I continued to sculpt possible my last oil painting.
