2 Year Anniversary

It’s been 2 years since I moved back to HK, time for a little reflection… One of the biggest accomplishments over the last 2 years is the completion of my MSc. degree in Sustainable and Environmental Design.  Read quite a lot of books and had learned a great deal in the subject of Architecture.  I […]

Cleanup II

Finished cleaning up my home studio, it’s not clutter-free like the bedroom, but it feels like I’ll be comfortable working here from 9 to 5, Monday to Friday! It looks like I’m in good shape to finally start some real work on Monday!

Cleanup

I disliked the roman blinds that was installed in my bedroom, they completely blocked the operable windows and discouraged natural ventilation and daylighting. After 2 years of occasional visual/psychological annoyance, I finally replaced them with rolling screens, they filter (rather than block) strong direct sunlight and leaves the operable windows operable even when they’re lowered. […]

Turning Point

The 3 kids in the house had finally moved back to their renovated apartment last week, tranquility was once again experienced after ~2 months!  Reclaimed my bedroom so I no longer had to sleep in my home studio, it’s nice to be able to physically separate the work and rest area once again.  Had kept […]

<>

Successfully rented and watched a movie through the Apple TV for the first time tonight.  My 6 y/o nephew was generous enough to pay for the rental, it’s good that he experiences the joyfulness of sharing his wealth with others at a young age. Enjoyed the movie, I have such a soft spot for animations.  […]

Family Day

It must have been close to a month since our family of 10 had our regular Sunday dimsum! Gained a new perspective on my family’s Canada vacation after listening to my sister’s and brother-in-law’s narratives. Saddened to know how my father was disrespected and neglected by his 2 elder grand-kids. Perhaps they’re still too young […]

RTHK Programmes

Continued my indulgence in the RTHK treasure trove…  Watched the entire series of the new <<香港故事>>, it was about mentorship of a variety of trades, brings back memories of all the teachers/mentors who had taught me in the past.  I’m thankful to have so many people willing to teach and guide me in the many […]

<<越扭越有計>>

The kids were out visiting their grandparents the whole day, and I was alone in the house with nothing to do.  It was a bit too hot to go outside, and I thought about doing some work for my freelancing, but ended up persuading myself to wait for the kids to move back to their […]

Family’s Back

My father, niece and nephews, sister, and brother-in-law are back from their Canada vacation.  The kids had a blast, but the adults must had endured a tiresome 20+ days.  Regardless, I’m just glad that they’re back safe and sound. One of my worrying anticipation couldn’t be avoided – after seeing my sister’s family in Toronto, […]

Hottest Day?!

Just when I thought the hottest days were behind us, the local temperature reached as high as 35 degrees today, the highest thus far for the summer!  I sure hope the heat won’t last too long before the daily temperature starts its gradual decline. I think one of my threestrip corydoras is dying. It may […]
