Running (Jogging)

Managed to do a little work, watered my plants, and cleaned my aquariums today.  I usually tend the living things at home on Sundays, but after reading Exodus, I’m now even more determined to let myself rest on Sundays. I even managed to do a little jogging at night.  Since my mother was out, I […]

Week Review

This is one of those weeks where badminton, soccer, and bball coincide on the same week, I think this is probably as much physical activity as my body can handle. A lot of other things also happened this week.  I finally launched a website I had been working on and off for a few months, […]

Aquarium

Helped a friend fix a website bug before heading out for lunch today.  Went for a little stroll in Mong Kok afterwards and bought a batch of cherry shrimps.  I had been trying to breed the tiny shrimps for months without success – I can see miniscule transparent baby shrimps, but they can’t seem to […]

Aquarium

Bought another batch of cherry shrimps today.  The last batch of babies lasted for about 2 weeks, hopefully this batch of adults would be hardier.  My ultimate goal is to sustain a healthy population of shrimps with minimal maintenance and energy input to the ecosystem…

Aquarium

The weather is considerably cooler today, I have been waiting for this sub-30 degrees weather to start my dwarf shrimp aquarium, a small (30x30x30cm) tank I had setup in my bedroom about 2 weeks ago. Bought a batch of 20 cherry shrimps and acclimatized them before setting them free in the tank.  They seem to […]

Aquarium

It’s becoming one of my most look-forward-to weekend events now – tending my studio’s aquarium!  Spent an entire afternoon today and did a thorough cleaning of the aquarium, removed the algae that carpeted much of the stone wall and sediments, hopefully it won’t come back again.  Don’t know why there’s so much nutrients in the […]

Hottest Day?!

Just when I thought the hottest days were behind us, the local temperature reached as high as 35 degrees today, the highest thus far for the summer!  I sure hope the heat won’t last too long before the daily temperature starts its gradual decline. I think one of my threestrip corydoras is dying. It may […]

Aquarium

Bought half a dozen baby Panda Corydoras, love seeing their tiny active bodies swim and curiously explore their new home, bumping into other elder corydoras along the way. Hope they’ll be able to adapt and strive in the relative warm water.

Japan’s Earthquake

The air seems particularly hot and stuffy today.  Went to church, dim sum with family, watered my plants, tended my aquarium, and killed hours at night sitting in front of the TV – a typical Sunday routine.  It must have been years that I have the habit not to do any “work” on Sundays (had […]

A Happy Day

Played basketball, watered my plants, tended my aquarium, read a book – my definition of a happy Saturday.  And the day was made pleasurable only while knowing that nothing serious was found on my mother’s MRI report!
