Starting Life Anew
After a week of mourning and using cartooning and bible scriptures to help myself emotionally cope with my uncle’s passing away, I wished to start life anew this week. I started my running practice again, made 3 short morning runs over the week, the associated endorphins generated seemed to help. I also started a new daily routine […]
2nd Half-Marathon Completed!
Completed my 2nd half-marathon with an improvement of ~15 mins (unofficially) compared to last year! Thankful. Building upon experience from last year, this year’s run seemed more pleasurable and less exhaustive, it felt like I can run an extra 1 or 2k after passing the finish line! Perhaps I can attempt to run a full marathon […]
Running
Managed to complete my longest running practice (~16.5k) before the upcoming half-marathon on Sunday. Logged in my time and distance and did some rough estimations using my running records. Comparing with last year, my accumulated practice run in terms of distance is ~20km less this year, but my average pace is considerably faster (improved ~0.3m/s). […]
Running
After going to a seminar last weekend and learning a little bit about the science of long run, I slightly adjusted my running practices. I went for a practice on Monday and Wednesday and ran at a slightly quicker pace for a shorter distance (~6k). And after resting a couple of days, I did a practice […]
Keep Your Legs Moving…
The 10k streetathon last Sunday was a bit of a disappointment, poor planning and preparation of the organiser had many runners including me stop way too often for way too long along the way. Hot weather and street side air pollution were a couple of other disappointing aspects of the run. Perhaps due to adequate practice, […]
Life Back to Normal
My sister and 2 nieces ended their vacation and flew back to Canada yesterday, and my life is slowly returning back to normal. Went for a run this morning. Without imposing any time limit, I ran slowly and completed about 12k, it’s my first run that’s over 10k since starting my practice in November.
Sister and Nieces in Town
My sister and 2 nieces from Toronto had been back for about a week, I had been spending more time with them and less time doing work (always thankful for a flexible work schedule). But it’s December already, and I’m starting to procrastinate on the many things I wish to finish before the end of 2016! […]
Running
The weather finally getting a little chilly in the morning. The sun was shining today after a couple of rainy and gloomy days, I couldn’t resist to go out for a run. Ran about 6k, longest run since getting back to my regular running practice at the beginning of the month. Took the day off […]
First Run since May
Was notified last week that I got in to the city half-marathon race in coming February. Feeling the urgency to shape up, I forced myself to get up early today and did my first run since May! Slowly jogged about 2.3k and was still able to catch my breath afterwards. Not too bad I suppose? Guess […]
Sick Day
Woke up with a minor sore throat and light fever, decided to take a day off and rest at home. I can’t remember the last time I spent the afternoon at home on a weekday. Managed to read the entire book of Ezra and prepare the ppt for tomorrow’s fellowship while taking a few naps […]
