Sports and Maps
Soccer on Monday, badminton on Thursday, and basketball on Saturday, it was a week full of sports. Perhaps it’s a bit too much exercise, but I really enjoy catching up with friends, and since the 3 groups of friends don’t overlap, I had to play all 3 sports if I don’t want to miss the […]
Tiredness
Didn’t sleep too well for the last couple of nights. Actually woke up from a vivid nightmare last night, haven’t had one of those dreams for awhile. Feeling a bit tired this weekend… Looking back this week, I’ve put in a bit over 19 hours to my freelance work, much less than a regular 40-hour […]
Tai O
My sister’s parents-in-law were in town, my parents insisted on visiting them. Reluctantly, I tagged along to visit them at one of the most remote place in HK. Then again, they treated me like family and invited me to their family dinners during the holidays when I was in Toronto, so it would be rather […]
Fotanian 2012
My first time to catch a glimpse of some HK artists’ studios at the Fotanian event was 2 years ago, not long after I came back from Canada. Revisiting the same event after 2 years makes me realize that I still very much want to have a studio space to do some “dirty” experimental work, […]
Holidays
The Christmas holiday this year seems particularly long. Other than Sunday service at church, I hardly stepped outside. My energy level is a bit low these days, so I gave myself a break from work and spent much of the time catching up on RTHK videos. For a guy who doesn’t go out often, the […]
Ocean Park
Went to Ocean Park with my 2 nephews and sister today before our family’s “do winter” dinner. It had been years since I last visited the park, seeing all the animals still entertains me, especially the pandas. Was on the cable car and staring out at the waters, it hit me when I all of […]
Detour 2011
Went to Central to renew my passport today, I then had lunch with a friend who works nearby. It’s not that often that I cross the Victoria Habour, so I made the most of it and visited the Detour 2011. It’s nice seeing local artists’ creative use of ‘useless’ materials to make their wonderful installations. […]
Fellowship
Brought my graduation gown to take a photo with my fellowship‘s b/s tonight. I’m thankful that God has given me a wonderful fellowship life here in HK. At the same time, I’m saddened hearing about the slow demise of my fellowship in Toronto, I pray that God would continue to bless Elim fellowship just like […]
Typhoon No.8
If I remember correctly, this is the first time the typhoon no.8 signal was issued since I returned to HK 2 years ago. Offices and schools were closed, but for people who works from home, today is just another regular work day. I managed to get some work done in this crazy weather.
Family Day
It must have been close to a month since our family of 10 had our regular Sunday dimsum! Gained a new perspective on my family’s Canada vacation after listening to my sister’s and brother-in-law’s narratives. Saddened to know how my father was disrespected and neglected by his 2 elder grand-kids. Perhaps they’re still too young […]
