Continuing the work on my dissertation day and night, and on a Saturday too! Took almost a week to hunt and synthesize all the data to plot the graphs. Seems like I’ll have an interesting story to tell, will start the actual writing next week.
I still remember the time my good friend reminded me of the milestone of urban population outnumbering the rural when he was editing my application letter for this programme. Here I am about 2 years later plotting the graph to be used for my dissertation to hopefully complete my degree!

Revisited this book, Ecological Footprint can be an interesting tool to measure the sustainability of cities, will try to gather data and plot some graphs for my dissertation tomorrow.
Learned a bit about Sustainable Development Indicators (SDI) through this book. Can sustainability actually be measured?! If not, how else can I define a sustainable city?!
Nature is a limitless source of design inspirations. Can cities be designed to be sustainable by mimicking natural ecosystems that is inherently healthy, zero waste, self-regulating, resilient and self-renewing, and adaptable? A very appealing concept, but seems to be lacking concrete measurable progress indicators.
