Running
Almost fully recovered from my cold/flu, managed to run 12K at a slow pace in this morning’s running practice. Running seems more joyful when I run slowly at my own pace.
Monday Artist
It was a day of fully-packed artistic events. I first went to a chinese painting exhibition by artist 林勇遜 in the early afternoon, then quickly saw the MUJI compact life exhibition @PMQ while I was in the Central area. Ended the day with my weekly evening watercolor and oil painting classes, completed 2 pieces of […]
Monday Artist
Left home in the morning to register for next term’s Monday watercolor classes. While nearby, I took a stroll in Shatin city center, visited a furniture mall and MUJI, found some inspirations on products I can potentially design later. Visited an Art exhibition in TST in the early afternoon. The show was organised by a […]
Running
Increased the training distance a little more and completed a 7K run this morning. Didn’t seem as dreadful and exhausting as I thought, I actually experienced brief moments of joy during the interval recovery laps. I suppose it’s impossible to keep a habit or any long term endeavour going if it doesn’t encompass the slightest […]
Running
Although getting up slightly late, I managed to drag myself into my second running practice this week. Ran about 6K, really exhausted. I kept asking myself why I signed up for the half-marathon, I think partly because I wanted to prove to myself that I’m completely recovered from my major illness at the beginning of […]
Monday Artist
I want to be a Monday Artist, dedicating one day each week to learn, practice, be inspired, and simply enjoy Art! It’s like playing the 6th player on a basketball team, always kept in shape, warmed up, and ready to contribute to the team while the key players rest. It’s a bit of a luxury […]
New Tools
Invested in some Dremel tools today – little by little I’m turning a part of the studio into my dream DIY space, feels a bit like going back to the enjoyable highschool DT/shop classes. I cannot be more thankful for this studio space, really need to devise a plan that’s sustainable economically, environmentally, and socially.
Typhoon 8
Colleagues left the office before typhoon no.8 was hoisted in the late afternoon. Being left alone in the studio with no immediate work to do, I decided to use the time to finish off a cartoon I started on Monday. I still very much enjoy cartooning, sometimes I imagine what it would be like to […]
Creative Monday
I’ve filled this Creative Monday with Art. It started with some cartooning in the afternoon, followed by oil painting and watercolor classes at night. Never had I turned on my laptop for the entire day! Sometimes I question why I persist in doing art. For one thing, it’s simply something I enjoy doing. For another, […]
