Played 3 hours of soccer on a rainy night. My big toes are hurting and my bones are aching, but it feels good.
One of these days I shall start some regular training and get myself into shape…
My parents just got back home from their 6-day trip to Malaysia. Wasn’t expecting any souvenirs, but they used their leftover money and bought me loads of coffee, enough for a few months of breakfast!
Spent close to a week home alone, and nothing really special happened. Started cleaning up and re-organizing my place, it’s like the aftermath of a war-zone after I was done with my dissertation! Will do more re-organizing work this week…
Took my 6 y/o nephew to see the Pixar exhibition, it’s been months since I last took him out. Other than the occasional nagging to do this/that like all children, it’s always delightful to hear him openly talk and reason.
I probably enjoyed seeing the sketches and drafts in the exhibition more than my nephew, I still fantasize myself to be a full-time cartoonist once in a while…
Last year for Mother’s Day, we bought flowers for my mother and resulted in her whining about how the flowers would wilt in a week and we were wasting money, even though there was an obvious smile on her face. This year, I decided to buy her orchids, something I’ve been wanting to try cultivating for a long time, this should last more than a week if not months or years, we’ll see.
Played soccer tonight, I had a couple of “own goals”! I’m pathetically out of shape.
There’s this feeling of emptiness now that the dissertation had been submitted. It feels awkward waking up in the morning and realizing there’s no more school work awaiting me. The dissertation must have dragged on far too long and it just seems surreal that it’s actually completed.
Nonetheless, I know there’s the sense of relief and happiness deep within me because I just couldn’t hide my smile when telling my b/s that I’m finally done with all school work at fellowship last night. Thank God!
I pray that God would continue to lead and guide my post-academic path, let me reflect Your goodness and glorify Your name in whatever career You have planned for me. Amen.
Finally completed and submitted my dissertation! It’s a month after my personal target, but 2 months before the actual deadline.
Goodbye school…. HELLO WORLD!!
Finally completed the draft for my dissertation! Need to review it a couple of times and add an illustration for the cover before submission (targeting this Friday).
Didn’t expect it would take the whole day just to manage all the references for the dissertation! Ignored the Royal Wedding nuisance, and missed fellowship, it was all business today.
Will insert the tables and figures to complete the draft tomorrow!
Today is one of the most productive days in terms of my dissertation work, managed to complete the writings of all the sections! Will need to organize the references and add in the subtitles for the tables and figures tomorrow…
Spent a couple of productive days on my dissertation, close to finishing the main Analysis and Discussion section at this point. Should be in good shape to finish the complete draft before May.
Starting to see the glimpse of light at the end of the tunnel, and that’s a rather good feeling!
