Spent a leisure afternoon at the zoo. Was planning to make sketches of native fauna, but there were only a handful of animals at the Canadian Domain, and most of them could not be easily sketched. Aside from the bounded animals, there were many chipmunks running all over the places. I also had a glimpse of a blue jay and a cardinal in the trees, what magnificent birds they are!
My legs are still hurting from the large amount of walking in the vast zoo.

I’m really thankful that my friends remembered my birthday and treated me for dinner, the cake was an added surprise. I had the feeling that I’m getting too old for cakes and surprises however, just the gathering of good ol’ friends is more than satisfying for me.
The temperature was close to 40 degrees (with humidity accounted) in the afternoon. Had to stay indoor where air-conditioning is provided, so I went to the mall to shop for a wedding gift for my friend in HK. Luckily, I found something that’s not “Made in China”! The Ice Cap tasted particularly good in the hot weather.
