Fever

Feeling cold despite wearing enough clothing, plus sore throat, muscle pain, and a body temperature of 100+ degrees, guess I’ve finally been defeated by sickness after a long marathon of healthy days…

Time to take some medicine, take a hot shower, brush up, and huddle myself under the blanket and sleep.

Red Pocket Design

Received a pack of red pocket envelops I helped design before Sunday Service this morning, I’m still overwhelmed with satisfaction looking at it now while writing this post.  I’m really thankful for this opportunity to serve for the first time at the church I’ve been attending for more than 2 years.

Received quite a few compliments from b/s, but I didn’t really know how to respond other than putting a smile on my face.  I just hoped the design can bring happiness and joy to people who sees or receives these red pockets.  I wonder if anyone notices that one of the petals on the flowers was intentionally drawn in the shape of a heart?! =)

I should not take full credit for the design though, as the font for “豐盛” was designed by the previous designer, so applaud to you if you ever come across this post.  Ultimately, may all praise goes to our Father above.  May He continue to mold me and use me for His works.

A set of “fai chun” designed for my church.  The letters were taken from previous year’s design.

New Year’s Resolution 2012

A review of my last year’s resolution revealed that I’ve only completed 4/10 of my resolutions, a failing grade.  I wouldn’t consider it a total failure though as many items were still in progress or on the verge of completion.

I still insist on making my New Year’s Resolution this year because “…the trouble with not having a goal is that it’s like spending your life running up and down the field without scoring…” – Internet.  So here’s my list of resolutions this year:

  1. Start a company.
  2. Make my career (full time + freelance) profitable.
  3. Read another version of the Bible.
  4. Continue to pray for my parents (weekly).
  5. Start a habit of praying before meals.
  6. Rid of my bad habit.
  7. Complete a 10K run within 55 minutes.
  8. Reach and maintain 55% win/loss percentage for my badminton practices.
  9. Improve my freethrow percentage to 70%.
  10. Keep all my resolutions!

I pray that God would give me the wisdom,  health, and perseverance to attain these goals.  2012 seemed like it will be a critical metamorphic year in my life.

Happy New Year 2012!

Spent the last few days updating the dEEsigners‘ website, ending the year with some good deesign exercise…

Wish You All a wonderful year 2012, full of Love, Joy, and Peace!

Happy New Year 2012!

Holidays

The Christmas holiday this year seems particularly long.  Other than Sunday service at church, I hardly stepped outside.

My energy level is a bit low these days, so I gave myself a break from work and spent much of the time catching up on RTHK videos.  For a guy who doesn’t go out often, the videos are an important source for me to understand more about the city I live in.  I know I really should step outside more often and experience the city first hand…

Christmas Card 2011

Silent Night

It’s becoming my annual tradition to stay home and design a Christmas card on Silent Nights.  It’s one of the rare times each year that I would dig out my watercolors and Indian Ink and re-live the time when I would work late nights to finish my cartooning assignments, those were some good times…

Ocean Park

Went to Ocean Park with my 2 nephews and sister today before our family’s “do winter” dinner.  It had been years since I last visited the park, seeing all the animals still entertains me, especially the pandas.

Was on the cable car and staring out at the waters, it hit me when I all of sudden realize how close Hong Kong is to the boundless Ocean.

TTMSSPC – Red Pocket Design

Was given the opportunity to design the Chinese New Year red pocket for my church.  Reused the font design from the previous designer.  The final gold-plated print was surprisingly good.  Very thankful for the opportunity.
