Submitted my design for the Towngas Street Art competition today. Thought about submitting it later to see if I might be able to come up with better ideas, but I kind of want to get this over with and get back to doing some real work. Regardless, the time spent on designing was fun, and I’ll at least have something to add to my portfolio even if I don’t win any prize. Should keep an eye out for more design competitions later…
I still remember the first time I won a coloring contest. I was in primary school, and my sister brought home a coloring sheet for me one day, it was for an Easter coloring contest held by a nearby Shoppers. I colored the Easter-themed picture with all the pencil crayon coloring skills I know then and submitted the finished artwork. Surprisingly, I won first prize and was rewarded with a big Easter basket full of treats!
I really liked drawing and coloring when I was young, I pulled my first ever all-nighter in primary school trying to complete the illustrations for a school project on fairy tales! =)
