PMQ Visit

IMG_0659Had lunch with a couple of old friends in Central before visiting the recently opened PMQ – a historical “Police Marital Quarter” renovated into a hub where artists and designers can rent and setup their studios.  My friend brought up the idea that I should try renting one of the spaces for my own studio.  I never thought about that before visiting the place, but that proposition seemed more and more intriguing the more I think of it.  I can totally see myself using the space to showcase and sell some of my designed products.  I can also be inspired by and possibly collaborate with neighboring artists and designers.  These are some of the things I cannot do at my current studio location.

Briefly talked to my parents about this over dinner, they are very supportive as they always do, they even started thinking if I should hire someone to help me!  I imagined there would probably be a long list of people waiting to rent the spaces and that I may not be able to rent it even if I wished to.  Regardless, I’m thankful for friends and family who seem to trust in my abilities more than I trust myself.

My friend also reminded me about setting goals, and also giving it some kind of deadline.  It’s been a long time since I set any goals for myself, but perhaps this is a good time to do so while I’m rethinking my life’s purpose.

Give me a stock clerk with a goal, and I will give you a man who will make history.  Give me a man without a goal, and I will give you a stock clerk.” – J. C. Penny
