{"id":6627,"date":"2016-06-16T23:21:32","date_gmt":"2016-06-16T15:21:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tonylaw.com\/wwwroot\/wp\/?p=6627"},"modified":"2016-06-16T23:21:32","modified_gmt":"2016-06-16T15:21:32","slug":"first-cruise-trip","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.tonylaw.com\/wwwroot\/wp\/2016\/06\/16\/first-cruise-trip\/","title":{"rendered":"First Cruise Trip"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Joined my parents and their friends on a 9-day cruise vacation, my first ever cruise trip. \u00a0Boarded the Voyager of the Seas in HK on the 8th, headed for Japan&#8217;s Hiroshima, Beppu, and Miyazaki for 3 respective daytime land excursions, and returned home in HK early morning today.<\/p>\n<p>The joy of exploring the huge ship didn&#8217;t last longer than a day or two. \u00a0My excitement died off quickly after realising on the first night that\u00a0my dream of revisiting the\u00a0breathtaking starry night sky vanished because the ship&#8217;s roof deck was polluting the sky with artificial light throughout the night. \u00a0It also didn&#8217;t\u00a0help when your roommate is annoying, loud, and snoring throughout the night\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0a true test of patience and self-control that I think I passed.<\/p>\n<p>The experience\u00a0wasn&#8217;t all bad, I was able to revisit\u00a0the boundless\u00a0sea\/sky horizon from\u00a0the ship, so boundless\u00a0that it seemed to curve around me! \u00a0I also made my first ever attempt to get up early to catch the sunrise, the panoramic view was not bad despite the clouds and wind. \u00a0I also managed to do a few cartoons which really did brighten\u00a0up the less than exciting days on board. \u00a0And the best part of the trip was\u00a0definitely seeing my parents and their friends enjoying their 9-day vacation and looking forward to the next one.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.tonylaw.com\/wwwroot\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/IMG_3418.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"tl-photo aligncenter wp-image-6628 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/www.tonylaw.com\/wwwroot\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/IMG_3418-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_3418\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Joined my parents and their friends on a 9-day cruise vacation, my first ever cruise trip. \u00a0Boarded the Voyager of the Seas in HK on the 8th, headed for Japan&#8217;s Hiroshima, Beppu, and Miyazaki for 3 respective daytime land excursions, and returned home in HK early morning today.
